NC State’s Office of Postdoctoral Affairs serves as a clearinghouse for information related to postdoctoral appointments and provides programs, resources and support to postdocs. NC State provides an array of resources for postdoctoral scholars to prepare them for a successful transition to the university community and a career beyond their postdoctoral appointments.

Faculty Asset Search Tool

To be in compliance with OMB Circular A-110 or 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance), faculty must certify that a search was completed within the University for available assets before purchasing new assets for a sponsored project. Faculty may use the Faculty Asset Search Tool to complete and certify these searches.

The Office of Research and Innovation supports research, scholarship, and creative activities of the NC State community, facilitates a collaborative research and innovation environment, and translates results into social, economic, and technological development across North Carolina and around the world.

Research Development Office (RDO)

Housed within the Office of Research and Innovation, the Research Development Office manages research infrastructure for NC State and related services, including the identification, management and support of research funding opportunities, assisting faculty with planning and development of large interdisciplinary proposals via the Proposal Development Unit, as well as the oversight of Centers and Institutes and other units focused on interdisciplinary research, instruction and public service.

Sponsored Programs and Regulatory Compliance Services (SPARCS)

Sponsored Programs is responsible for pre-award and nonfinancial post-award activities for contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements. We partner with college research offices to ensure timely and compliant proposal submission. We negotiate and execute funding agreements, subawards, and nonmonetary agreements. Research Compliance comprises oversight functions for protection of human and animal research subjects, conflict of interest, export controls, and research integrity.

Partnerships and Economic Development

The Office of Partnerships and Economic Development develops and grows university, industry and government partnerships for economic and societal benefit by making the process of doing business with NC State as easy and productive as possible. The department also supports economic development efforts of the state of North Carolina and the Triangle region by actively recruiting companies with high-paying jobs.

The Office of Research Commercialization plays a crucial role in making NC State a research powerhouse and a powerful economic engine for North Carolina by protecting and promoting university research discoveries and intellectual property, working with and guiding industry partners, and promoting the acceleration of startups. The office helps drive economic growth by facilitating the commercialization of research discoveries.

Office of Contracts and Grants

The Office of Contracts and Grants manages and supports the financial administration and effort certification processes associated with sponsored projects awarded to NC State University. We ensure funds are spent appropriately and that accurate, timely information is provided to sponsors and the university community. From the establishment of an award to closeout, we provide expertise to help campus interpret guidelines and promote a culture of compliance across the university. Services provided
