Scholarly Reassignment

A scholarly reassignment is an assignment that is requested by the faculty member for the purpose of permitting the faculty member to engage in activities that are not part of his or her normal academic assignments, and that are designed to enable them to concentrate their efforts on recent developments in special areas of scholarly interest and to maintain high professional competence.

University Research Committee

The University Research Committee is the faculty’s voice to the research administration. The committee evaluates and advises on research-related issues and helps to identify emerging areas of interest or concern at NC State. Resources include a meeting schedule, list of current members and their contact information, and a calendar of research committee meetings and other research events.

Research Operations Council

The Research Operations Council (ROC) provides leadership at the college and university level for NC State research endeavors. The council’s monthly meeting agenda is set by the Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation. Members include the associate dean for research (or comparable chief research officer) from each college, the Vice Chancellor’s senior staff and the University Research Committee’s chair.

Research Support Council

The Research Support Council (RSC) is the research administration staff component of the Vice Chancellor’s research committees. Representatives from the Office of Research and Innovation’s SPARCS, Finance’s Contracts and Grants, college research offices, departments, and centers and institutes communicate and clarify external and internal research policy and work to address research education needs.

The University Special Events Office helps produce and manage many of the university's events and programs. Information outlining event requirements, budgeting, invitations, venue choice, food and beverage and more are available.
