The University Scholars Program (USP) introduces high-achieving students to visual and performing arts, encourages them to consider contemporary issues in science and politics, challenges them to excel academically and inspires them to explore and engage through international and outdoor education programs. University Scholars connect their goals and passions, become active citizens, and embrace the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.

First Year Inquiry

The First Year Inquiry Program (FYI) is for first year students. Each course fulfills a general education program requirement. Faculty engage students through “inquiry-guided” teaching methods. The three common student-learning outcomes are developing critical and creative thinking skills, enhancing development of intellectual maturity, and increasing student responsibility for learning. Students benefit from experiencing classes with a small faculty/student ratio.

Advising Technology / Navigate

Navigate is a suite of tools campus faculty and staff use to support students to timely graduation through a continuity of care and proactive advising structure. Advising Technology hosts training opportunities and prepares resources for faculty and staff to maximize Navigate for efficient and effective advising and student support.
