Research Support Council

The Research Support Council (RSC) is the research administration staff component of the Vice Chancellor’s research committees. Representatives from the Office of Research and Innovation’s SPARCS, Finance’s Contracts and Grants, college research offices, departments, and centers and institutes communicate and clarify external and internal research policy and work to address research education needs.

Available resources for inventors include disclosure forms, template agreements, confidentiality and material transfer agreements, a patent agreement and consulting policies.

Restricted Research Data

Information is available on restricted research data, including US Government Controlled Unclassified Information, DOD Controlled Technical Information and Data Use Agreements. Sponsored Programs and Regulatory Compliance Services and the Office of Information Technology are committed to providing solutions to meet requirements for protecting research data and information in compliance with its Federal or contractual obligations.

Shared Core Research Facilities

NC State’s Office of Research and Innovation oversees five University Core Shared Research Facilities that house a variety of state-of-the-art instruments. Each of these Facilities are staffed by scientists that offer hands-on training, specialized research services as well as project consultation.
