The NCSU Libraries is a United States Patent and Trademark Office-designated Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC). We offer access to several patent-searching databases, and can provide general guidance on searching patents and trademarks.

Postdoctoral Affairs at NC State

NC State’s Office of Postdoctoral Affairs serves as a clearinghouse for information related to postdoctoral appointments and provides programs, resources and support to postdocs. NC State provides an array of resources for postdoctoral scholars to prepare them for a successful transition to the university community and a career beyond their postdoctoral appointments.

Pre-Award System (PINS)

The Project Information and Navigation System (PINS) resources available include help with NIH progress reports, document upload, adding a new investigator to PINS, browser information and other tips, a restricted sponsor list, export controls pertaining to sponsors and subrecipients, and commonly-asked questions.

Property Disposition

There have been changes to PRR’s and clarifications of the university property disposition process for any type of University owned/controlled property (capital, non-capital, supplies, etc). Related links point to the updated disposition process document and the updated Policy statements located on the NC State University PRR website. These documents provide uniform guidance that should be followed by all faculty and staff. The updated policy supersedes all prior policies or procedures.

Radiation Safety

Radiation Safety assists the campus community with radiation related programs. Staff provide training and consultations, conduct routine safety inspections in laboratories, assist researchers with the acquisition and disposal of radioactive materials and radiation-producing devices and maintains radiation emergency response capabilities.
