DELTA’s role within the Office of the Provost is to foster the integration and support of learning technologies in NC State’s academic programs, both on the campus and at a distance. We coordinate the funding and production of all distance-based credit programs and courses for the university.

The NCSU Libraries offers equipment, software, workshops and in-person help for creating video, music and audio, graphics, photography, scanning and poster printing. Staff can help with planning and designing digital media assignments using equipment that can be borrowed through our technology lending service. Reservable music rooms and a green screen studio are available.

Envisioning Research is an annual contest for graduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff to showcase images from their research. Generally, entries are accepted in the spring, with winners announced in late summer.

The First Year Inquiry Program (FYI) is for first year students. Each course fulfills a general education program requirement. Faculty engage students through “inquiry-guided” teaching methods. The three common student-learning outcomes are developing critical and creative thinking skills, enhancing development of intellectual maturity, and increasing student responsibility for learning. Students benefit from experiencing classes with a small faculty/student ratio.
